What do I need what for?
Pre-clean the glue spots on the suit, cuffs, booties, tape, zipper sparingly with Lösit MEK (Cotol also works is too aggressive for us).
Gluing: Mix Helastopakt with Elastosal hardener (crosslinker) in a ratio of 100:5.
Sealing: Mix Aquasure with Cotol in a ratio of 5:1.
Processing: We mix adhesives or sealants in a cardboard cup (plastic cups are chewed up) or in a glass. For mixing we use our 8 or 12 mm bristle brushes with which we then also directly apply the material in several thin layers. Depending on the absorbency (neoprene different from trilaminate or tape or zipper) 3-5 layers are required. Apply layer by layer when finger dry.
Opened containers will keep for a longer period of time if they are cleaned at the screw connection before closing and thus no air can penetrate and cause hardening. If a date is applied, it is the production date - not the expiry date.
The content of one tube of glue is 50ml, which is approx. 46 grams. Due to the packaging, residual material remains in the tube so that, in our experience, the net usable content is about 42 grams. When applying 3 layers of material, one tube is sufficient for bonding one latex neck cuff or one pair of latex arm cuffs with one meter of our own masking tape. The 300 gram can is recommended for changing boots, zippers and other larger jobs.
